Windows 8 support

Music Creator provides full functionality in Windows 8 32-bit and 64-bit.

Play List enhancements

The Play List includes the following enhancements:

Updated UI.

If a song has already been played, it appears dimmed in the list.

Sort columns in alphabetical, numerical, or date order.

New columns:

Accessibility enhancements

Music Creator’s power is now fully accessible to vision impaired users.

Music Creator’s accessibility features, including Microsoft UI Automation, expose rich information about it’s UI elements, such as type, state, name, and value.

With reliable access to this information, vision impaired users can use screen reader programs such as JAWS and Window-Eyes to access, identify, and manipulate Music Creator’s UI elements. The screen readers read aloud what's on the computer screen.

Online product documentation

By default, Music Creator opens the online HTML Help in your default Web browser. The latest documentation is always available from the Cakewalk Web site. Online help offers many benefits, including:

Portability (e.g. Mobile phones)

Searchability (e.g. Google)

Google Translate support

If you do not have an Internet connection, SONAR will instead launch an offline version of the online Help.

If you prefer to always use offline Help, go to Edit > Preferences > File > Advanced, and select Always Use Offline Help.

To download the latest offline help file, go to Help > Download Latest Help File.

Other enhancements

Gapless operation when moving loop points, inserting effects, and inserting and replacing synths.

Browser preview stays synchronized with the Matrix.

VST plug-in names show the proper VST name instead of the DLL file name.

The loop region obeys Snap to Grid when dragging the entire loop region in the time ruler.

Updated zoom faders.

Updated mouse pointers during certain operations.

Dozens of additional performance, audio engine, and UI improvements.
